Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Hapimag AG, you will be responsible for the financial, administrative, HR, and legal management of the German subsidiary. The role focuses on overall financial leadership, regulatory compliance, reporting, and leading the country-level implementation of corporate HR and business strategy across Germany.

The role supports Hapimag’s German organisation across 13 resort locations, Houseboats Müritz, the Country Head of Operations, and Headquarters. In your for our German subsidiary, you carry ultimate responsibility for the Area Office and local business activities.

What you can expect

1. Financial, Administrative & Legal Management 

  • Directly guiding and working side-by-side with the local team (4 direct reports across Finance, Accounting, and HR) to ensure smooth Area Office operations.
  • Oversee end-to-end functional responsibilities across accounting, taxes, controlling, HR, and legal matters in Germany.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting directly to Headquarters and the CFO under German GAAP.
  • Act as the primary legal representative (Geschäftsführer) of the German subsidiary vis-à-vis external authorities, auditors, tax offices, key stakeholders, and the President of the German Board.
  • Handle all overarching operational, administrative, tax, and legal questions regarding the German subsidiary.
  • Act as a dedicated Finance Business Partner to Resort Managers, Cluster/Country Management, the CFO, and Corporate HQ.

2. HR supervision

  • Oversee and supervise HR team (payroll and administration)
  • Provide senior guidance on organizational, functional, and structural people topics including topics from Headquarters.

3. Compliance, Governance & Risk Management

  • Overseeing and coordinating legal topics with assistance of our legal counsel or advisor
  • Ensure strict compliance with all German laws, tax regulations, financial standards, and statutory and corporate governance requirements.
  • Monitor operational, legal, and contractual governance across the subsidiary to identify and mitigate financial or legal risks early.
  • Maintain efficient internal control systems, transparent reporting routes, audit trails, and clear documentation for executive decision-making.
  • Ensure total alignment between local operational governance and Hapimag AG corporate standards.

What you bring along

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a comparable senior financial leadership role in Germany.
  • Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), and financial reporting standards and tax legislation
  • Proven track record in the independent and professional preparation of local annual financial statements and tax filings.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a strong track record of managing and developing small teams.
  • Solid exposure to multi-site operations, ideally in Hospitality, Retail, Consumer Goods, Services, Real Estate, or Manufacturing.
  • Ability to work hands-on and independently within a lean setup, delivering pragmatic financial leadership directly to the business.
  • Proficiency in local taxation. Good knowledge of German law.
  • Advanced IT literacy, including ERP/accounting systems, reporting tools, and advanced spreadsheet modeling.
  • University degree in Business Administration, Management, or Finance (ideally with a Major in Accounting).
  • Native or fluent German and fluent in English

 

Strong Advantage

  • Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO).
  • CPA or local German equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience working within a multi-site operational environment, holding company structure, or international matrix organization.
